The Wire is the best body of work that has ever been created for television. The quality of writing, acting and casting gets better each season. Every character of the show is complex, and exposes a piece of their soul every episode.
So, after almost a year of watching dvd's from season one through three, and watching Season Four on demand. They FINALLY released the season premiere of the FIFTH, AND FINAL SEASON on DEMAND last night. I shed a tear as I wrote that line. I can't believe that this is the final season! But instead of mourning, let's enjoy every episode, disect every scene , analyze the depth of all of the characters, and count the bodies that Snoop and Chris leave in the vacants.
So, what are your thoughts on Season One? Hmmm...Mike made Duke his nanny because Spider and the crew don't respect him on the corner. I think he's gonna do something drastic to give his life some meaning, other than being Michael's beeyoch. Bubbles trying to stay right, but his sister's not giving him enough support, so I think he's gonna hit the streets hard, and hit the pipe harder. The Mayor is learning that all is not well in politics. What do you think of the media staff? The editor's got some McNulty in him...and that one guy, who's looking for a story..I think he's going to turn out to be a loose cannon.
